Prepare Yourself
- Before the videoconference, distribute a prepared agenda to the other sites which helps you accomplish your goals in the allotted time.
Clothing
- Patterns and colors of clothing will affect the appearance of the video. Try wearing black or neutral colors, and avoid clothes that have a lot of designs or patterns, or are solid but bright and bold.
Introduction
- It is best to introduce everyone at all sites at the beginning, even those that are not in range of the camera. Newcomers should also be introduced if possible.
Be A Natural
- As in face-to-face meetings, use gestures, facial expressions, as well as notes and graphs to keep things lively and interesting.
Speak Normally
- Conversations are easily picked up by the microphone, so shouting is not necessary. Just try to speak one person at a time so that everyone is understood.
Encourage Participation
- Try to keep everyone involved by asking questions and directing comments to people at all sites.
