High-Speed T1 Internet Service Provided for Sprint Relay Services.

Together with the data-communications services of Pacific LightNet (PLNI) and the infrastructure expertise of Exp@nets, Aloha Business Centers provided the high-speed T1 data line today for Sprint's "Hawaii Taste of Technology" presentation at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort.

In particular, Sprint's Video Relay Service which allows sign language users to communicate via video over a high-speed Internet connection was a hit at the 4-hour long event. With exceptional turnout including the attendance of Vivian Aiona, wife of Lt. Govenor "Duke" Aiona, Sprint Relay Services provided real-time, interactive, and hands-on demonstrations of the exciting new communications capabilities for the deaf, and hearing and speech impaired. Coverage of the day's event was provided by KHON Channel 2 News.

Aloha Business Centers is pleased to have been a part of today's event promoting the new technologies available to the general public and our friends with unique and challenging circumstances.

IP Videoconferencing Now Available at Westin Maui and Renaissance Wailea.

Aloha Business Centers has successfully tested its newest videoconferencing protocol that is being implemented at all its centers statewide. Aloha Business Centers' videoconferencing has been available for over 3 years at Westin Maui via the H.320 ISDN protocol, and more recently at its newest location at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort. It is now also available over the H.323 IP protocol at these two locations, and Aloha Business Centers is working to have this visual communication tool available at all locations by March 2003.

IP videoconferencing allows for voice, video, and data to be transmitted over the Internet and reduces the cost of videoconferencing compared to that of utilizing traditional ISDN switched networks.

Aloha Business Centers' Westin Maui public facility has also recently been upgraded to the PolyCom FX series equipment. This new equipment allows for up to four multipoint videoconferencing calls over both the ISDN and IP protocols.
